This series is an easy read, it goes really fast and is fascinating. Ciardis Weathervane is a spunky young woman who has a knack for getting herself in trouble at every turn. Who cares if she saves people's lives? All her superiors care about is that she shows up disheveled, late and receives complaints about her behavior. She is endearing and adorable (though not touted as a beauty). She's someone I can relate to and I just love her. This is a well written story that had my interest from the first page to the last.

Courtlight Series Boxed Set Books 1 2 3 eBook Terah Edun Reviews

I found all three books in the "Courtlight" series a fun, amusing and all around good read. It was not a page turner with suspense that would make me yelp when the cat jumped in my lap, but it was a series of books that I kept reading and could not wait to start the next book. I was pleased to see that not all the non-human characters were cookie-cutter, lot of unique variety. The same can also be said with the magic. Liked that not everyone threw fire balls and mage bolts, you'll find a lot of unique magic and lots of unique ways to use them.

A flavor that I really enjoyed was the humor, a quick passage from book 3 (not a spoiler, don't worry)
"Didn't I tell you we should tie that girl up?" "I did say that, Right after she collapsed with her ears bleeding"

Reading it, I may not have given what it was so funny, but I could just see the way the character would have said that right after the main character did something... rash... again.

Looking forward to reading all of the rest of the series, thank you again for a great series.
Could be an interesting story, but the writing wasn't very good. It would spend a lot of time on things that don't really add to the story but then skim over places where the story could be elaborated or the characters could be better developed. There were some sections where I thought I actually skipped a few pages because the story seemed to skip ahead.
If you like action, adventure and intrigue this is a series for you. Great story line and pace. Mystical creatures with magical powers. Keeps you captivated wanting more. I would definately recommend this series. Terah Edun will become one of your favorite authors. Looking forward to the coming adventures .
These books have an intriguing storyline, but there are so many errors. Grammar issues, funky comma usage, incomplete sentences, strange word usage (words that don't mean what the author is trying to say. Example a character is killing someone slowly and it says he had a "sick, almost sexual, grin." Personally, I would have put that he had a sadistic grin), and other errors. It's also inconsistent. One minute, Ciardis is angry at the prince for having allowed people to torture her, and the next she is falling into his arms. Ciardis's character is inconsistent, and I really don't like her. The "bad guys" in this story keep being changed. One minute it's the kith (nonhuman creatures), the next it's the emperor. Two sentences later it's suddenly the kith again. The story kept flip flopping constantly. The Daemoni are evil, oh wait, they are suddenly good again, but hold on, they are still super evil and you need to watch your back. I understand that the author is trying to keep the reader on their toes, and that a little mystery is important, but some consistency would be appreciated. One thing that I thought was funny was the "old language" in these books is German. Bluttgott, however, is Luxembourgish. So maybe it's Luxembourgish, which is close enough to German anyway.
I have loved this series from the very first book. If a book can make me cry, laugh, or feel like throwing something then it's a good book. These three have had me do all that and more with each and every one. If you like fantasy with a little bit of clean romance then this is a good series for you. I recommend this for teens and older.

***Individual reviews follow.

This review is from Sworn To Raise Courtlight #1 ( Edition)
Life as an orphan was tough. Even worse was knowing that there was nothing that would change than when the promise of marriage was swept away in an instance.

That was the beginning but what follows is a miracle with a lifetime of promise as a Companion. Magic exists and if you are the last one that can enhance other's magic you may very well be set for life. That's if you can survive the Patron Hunt.

Good middle grade read with a bright promise of more in the series.

This review is from Sworn To Transfer Courtlight #2 ( Edition)
Ciardis feels like she's finally found a place to call home. One that has friends whom she can count on to have her back. Though how do you really know what another person's motives are? Just what makes someone "family?"

I love the character building in this book. It builds a mystery that continues to fracture into new threads but I can't help but still champion the cause of Sebastian and Ciardis.

You definitely need to read this series in order so you don't lose the plot threads. There were a couple of places where I had to go.back to the first book to see what I had missed. (Must have been where I was speed reading to find out what happened next.) I'm looking forward to the next book!

This review is from Sworn To Conflict Courtlight #3 ( Edition)
The intrigue continues in Sworn to Conflict. Ciardis learns more about her brother and find ends that there is more to her family than she thought possible. Of course she falls into a lot of trouble along the way in true Ciardis fashion.

Readers will delve even deeper into the intrigue and in the search for truth may find things aren't what they have been led to believe. Battles, secrecy, and a bit of mage magic await.
